First time on a horse

Anna has seen horses before on Grandpa's ranch but this past weekend was the first time she actually "rode" one.

First time at the beach

Last weekend we went to South Padre Island (in the South of Texas, almost to the Mexican Border) for a long weekend trip. We shared a condo with Christina, Lee and Sophia (2) and Ryan, Sorana and Avery (1) and had a great time. I have to admit, it was nicer than I expexted - being a Texas beach. The condo was directly on the beach and we had a very nice view.

At first Anna wasn't that convinced about the salty water and the waves but she got used to it eventually and started to like it.

Not so much the sand: initially she cried when she was set down in it and only got to the state of tolerating it.

First time climbing up the stairs

We don't have any stairs in our house so when we were staying at Chris and Ela's this past weekend Anna learned to climb up - down still is a problem. She had a lot of fun doing it.

First time pulling/standing up

During our last weekend in Germany (while we were Dodo's wedding- so my parents first witnessed it) Anna started pulling up on furniture and standing up! Nothing is safe anymore!

First time in Austria

Yesterday we took a day trip to Austria with Marion to visit Uli, Barbara and Fini, who were vacationing in the Austrian Alps. Though the weather was anything but perfect, we rose to the challenge and gave Anna a first impression of "real" hiking.

First time crawling

The day before we left for our trip to Germany Anna decided it was time to start crawling (resulting in many falls while on my parents' tile floor).
